Delete your account

Last updated: 6 October 2026

Idea Notes is made by SoftX LLC. You can delete your Idea Notes account and all its data yourself, at any time, or delete individual notes and keep your account. This page explains how, and exactly what gets deleted. It applies to the website and to the Idea Notes apps for iOS and Android.

In the mobile app

Open Settings, scroll to the bottom, tap Delete account, and confirm. If you did not agree to AI processing, the screen asking for your permission offers Delete account too.

On the web

Sign in at ideanote.space/settings, choose Delete account…, type DELETE and confirm. If you did not agree to AI processing, the screen asking for your permission offers Delete account too.

By email

If you cannot sign in, email support@ideanote.space from the address on the account. We will confirm it is you, delete the account within 30 days, and write back when it is done.

What gets deleted

Permanently, and straight away:

  • Your notes, including archived notes, trashed notes, every version and every restore point
  • Your clusters, and everything AI produced from your notes: summaries, tags, keywords and the data used for search and grouping
  • Your reminders and suggested reminders; their notifications stop once your devices sync
  • Your answer to the AI permission screen, and your settings and preferences
  • Your account itself, with your email address and name

It cannot be undone, so copy anything you want to keep first. If you have a paid plan, cancel it before deleting the account.

What we keep, and for how long

  • Encrypted backups, which age out within 30 days
  • Server logs holding IP addresses and timestamps, also within 30 days
  • Payment and invoice records, for as long as tax law requires

More detail is in our privacy policy.

Delete individual notes, and keep your account

In the mobile app: open the note, tap the More actions menu (⋮) and choose Delete, or press and hold the note in your list and choose Delete. The note moves to Trash. To remove it for good, open Settings → Trash and choose Delete forever on the note, or Empty to clear the whole Trash.

On the web: choose Delete note (the bin icon) on the note, or open the note and choose Delete note. The note moves to Trash. To remove it for good, open Trash in the sidebar and choose Delete permanently on the note, or Empty Trash.

While a note is in Trash you can restore it. Notes stay in Trash until you delete them for good or empty it.

When a note is deleted for good, these go with it, straight away:

  • Its version history and restore points
  • Its reminders and any reminders the app suggested from it; their notifications stop once your devices sync
  • Everything AI produced from it: its summary, tags, keywords, note type, the data used for search and grouping, and the records of how it was grouped

The summary of the group (cluster) the note was in is refreshed so it no longer describes the note. If the note was the last one in a group, the group’s summary and topics are deleted, and a group the app made is deleted with them. A large Trash empties in the background within a minute or two. Copies in encrypted backups age out within 30 days.
