Terms of Service

Your account

You need an account, and you must be at least 13 years old. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@ideanote.space if you think someone else has got in.

Your notes stay yours

You own what you write. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your notes, show them back to you, and send them to the AI providers named in our privacy policy so the app can summarise, tag and organise them. We do not use your notes to train AI models, and we do not sell them.

Using it fairly

Please do not:

• Break the law with it, or store material you have no right to store
• Try to break into other people's accounts or our systems
• Overload the service, scrape it, or resell access to it
• Reverse engineer it, except where the law says you may

We may suspend or close an account that does these things, usually after a warning where that is reasonable.

Paid plans

Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel, and Stripe handles payment. Cancel any time in Settings; your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew. We do not give refunds for part of a period unless the law where you live requires it. If we change prices, we will tell you first, and the change applies from your next renewal.

Ending it

You can stop using Idea Notes and delete your account whenever you like. We may close an account that breaks these terms, or withdraw the service entirely, and we will give reasonable notice and a chance to export your notes unless the circumstances make that impossible.

What we do not promise

Idea Notes is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and correct, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted, or that AI-generated summaries, tags and clusters will always be right. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Beyond that, neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or 50 US dollars if you paid nothing.

Apple and Google

If you installed the app from the App Store or Google Play, your use also follows their terms. Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement and are not responsible for the app or for support, though Apple may enforce these terms as a third-party beneficiary.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; we will change the date above, and tell you in the app or by email when a change matters. Carrying on using Idea Notes means you accept the new version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and the courts of Los Angeles County have jurisdiction, except where consumer law entitles you to bring a claim where you live.
